Professional prospects

The professional prospects? They are as good as the energy you put into it. Every IATWC instructor is taught the same program, and have the same opportunities. Some instructors have established several schools with many students, while other instructors are barely making a living with a few students. it is not enough to have the “Wing Chun skills” you also have to get people interested in learning them. You have to be able to sell yourself and the art.

Becomming an IATWC Instructor

IATWC instructors are usually self-employed, or retained by a sports center or fitness club. When you first start teaching, it is wise to

· start on a part-time basis until you have gained enough self-confidence and experience.
· Find a place that will not cost too much money until you can generate enough capital to establish you own place. Some examples are teaching from your home, the local gym or at a community center or school.

To become an IATWC instructor is not easy! A student must first

· Be over the age of 18 and does not have a criminal record

· reach the third level (which can take between 1 ½ to 2 years of training)

· complete an exam given by the head of the IATWC which consists of three parts: written, oral and technical.

· On successful completion of the exam, he/she will receive an instructor license from the IATWC. Note: Between the first and third level, each student is observed to see if he/she has the potential to be an instructor. If the student has demonstrated the qualities of the position, he/she can start the instructor training.
